Encore: Hunger Pangs for His Glory
The more God moves in certain areas of your life, the more you want (Hunger) for Him to move in all areas of your life. You begin to have “Hunger Pangs” for His Glory.
But David said to Saul, “Your servant used to keep his father’s sheep, and when a lion or a bear came and took a lamb out of the flock, 35 I went out after it and struck it, and delivered the lamb from its mouth; and when it arose against me, I caught it by its beard, and struck and killed it. 36 Your servant has killed both lion and bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, seeing he has defied the armies of the living God.” 37 Moreover David said, “The Lord, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.
1 Samuel 17:34-37
See how God moved in David's life concerning his father's sheep.... that experience brought forth “Hunger Pangs” for God's Glory concerning Goliath. David greatly relied on God's supernatural strength to protect his fathers sheep, and because of the faith he had in God in that area, it aroused him spiritually to rely on God to protect his brethren against Goliath. I call it “Hunger Pangs”, the Word of God calls it.... moving from faith to faith.
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
David did not rely on “HIS” strength, instead he relied on God's strength. This is the perfect picture of Christianity. God wants us to fully rely on Him in all areas of our life. When we trust God, he begins to perform! But it's not just any performance, God performs in such a way that leaves His audience begging for an encore! Our spirit man leaps to its feet and cheers encore, encore, encore. Literally, your spirit hungers for God to DO IT AGAIN!!!
