Instructions for "Family Devotion & Communion"

As we get ourselves prepared to enter into a brand new year, I thought it to be of the utmost importance for us as a church family, and as individual families, to come together and celebrate Jesus through Communion.

Communion, or as it is often called, "The Lord's Supper", is the breaking and eating of bread to symbolize Christ's body broken for us and drinking wine (juice) to remember the blood He shed for our sins. We are symbolically intermingling Christ's blood with our own, and sharing a meal together as family making Him a part of us and us a part of Him.

So here's what I'd like for you to do. Go out and purchase some bread and grape juice. Now understand, Jesus passed unleavened bread and wine around the table that night, but for us the symbolism of the bread and wine is what's important. Having said that, any form of bread and juice will be ok.

Next, gather your immediate family together by 8PM and log on to our website or one of our social media channels. There, we will all have a short devotion, prayer, and communion together, as a family, led by First Lady and I. (Remember, we are not promoting or suggesting any large gatherings during this season due to COVID-19).

I'm looking forward to this time of fellowship with you and intimacy with our Lord and Savior Jesus tomorrow night!

If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to me.

Blessings to you, and I'll see you tomorrow at 8PM!
